so blessed.

after yesterday's post i received so many kind comments and message and i first want to thank you to everyone for caring and for your kind words of encouragement, empathy, guidance, motivation. it is so appreciated. second, today's a new day! what a gift.

as easter nears i remember the incredible gift that Jesus' death is. sometimes it's so hard to remember that when you're bouncing between almost 6 different services (a few at catholic church, a few at baptist church...) it's very easy to get sick of church quickly. how amazing is it that a man, a wonderful man, would die a horrible death just so we could live eternally with our Father in heaven. how amazing that even though we continue to lead this ridiculously sinful lives we still have the opportunity to be forgiven, to be rid of the sin, because of the actions and LOVE of Jesus and our Lord. people that don't believe are missing out for reals. what an insanely coool gift, and all we have to do is accept that Jesus wanted to do this for US even though we don't deserve it at all and we constantly let Him down and we rarely appreciate what He did for us and we're far too often part-time friends that only reconnect when it's convenient for us. you have to be pretty loving, patient, kind, compassionate, wonderful to do that.

i am currently reading "crazy love" by francis chan and having only completed the first 20 pages of the book, i am already completely overwhelmed by the beauty, complexity and intricacy of God's creation! chan writes, "did you know a caterpillar has 228 separate muscles in its head? That's quite a few, for a bug. the average elm tree has approximately 6 million leaves on it. and your own heart generates enough pressure as it pumps blood throughout your body that it could squirt blood up to 30 feet.
"have you ever thought about how diverse and creative God is? He didn't have to make hundreds of different kinds of bananas, but He did. He didn't have to put 3,000 different species of trees within one square mile in the Amazon jungle, but He did. God didn't have to create so many kind of laughter. think about the different sounds of your friends' laughs - wheezes, snorts, silent, loud, obnoxious."

do you even need words? just soak that up.
look at yourself. look at the people around you. look at babies. look at nature. you can't deny that something, someone incredible created this. someone who obviously took the time (well time doesn't exist for God but you knoww.) and care to go over and above what He had to just to make this place we live in beautiful. and it is beautiful even if it's filled with chaos and disease and sadness and hurt and difficulties. it is beautiful. we create the bad. God didn't do that. He let us make those decisions instead and how we failed. how we fail. but the Lord provided us a way out of the badness, and it's through Jesus. through Him. yippeee!!!!
