to be dangerous and fully alive.

tonight at youth, pastor dave talked about being alive in Christ, and used ephesians 2:4-8 to illustrate how we are meant to be alive!
But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.
this is the second time i've heard dave given this message this month and it is a powerful one. this message alongside my reading today of lisa bevere's lioness arising, all about being fully awake, really emphasizes to me the importance of being alive, or being awake, in my walk and life with God. i believe that the prevelance of this message today is a message to reevaluate my current walk. i'm working on some things right now that i really hope will bring glory to God - that is the plan man. it's an interesting, new time for me, and i don't want to go about anything without prayerfully bringing it before the Lord because i want my actions and words to be blessed and to have impact for God!

i was really encouraged and motivated today through when reading lioness arising - as lame as the title is, i would highly recommend it so far ladies! - and some of the verses she used i shared on facebook and on this blog (i also banked some to share later). i really want to see women empowered to move outside of their comfort zones. and this is a lesson for me too, coz i don't always like doing that and it's usually because of completely stubborn, selfish, arrogant reasons. i really desire, especially at this time, to serve others. i'm learning that i have been given a really big heart for helping other people in various ways, and recently God has really been reinforcing and facilitating ideas to draw out and accomplish these desires. they are all new things but i am excited. it makes me feel different - more mature, more grown-up, like i'm making big steps into what's ahead for me in my future.

anyways, enough roundabout talking. through God, we have been so blessed to be allowed life when we are so mediocre, and self-serving, and undeserving, but through grace we have been saved; this is a gift from God!

below is the judah smith message i am currently watching, and below it i have included two links to lisa bevere's talk from word explosion conference which i also found really uplifting, empowering, encouraging, eye-opening, and motivating.
